Creating a Lasting Legacy

When you commission a Legacy Piece - or receive one as a gift - the first thing we will do is conduct a short, friendly telephone interview with you. At that time you’ll decide what kind of legacy you want to hand down to your descendants. Do you want them to know about your passion for music or art? Or tell them about a particular hobby or interest that has shaped your life? It’s entirely up to you.

Then we will arrange for one of our writers to visit you and conduct a series of short interviews. This is the fun part! By retelling your stories, you will have the chance to relive those important moments in your life, and experience again the emotions associated with those memories.

Once the writer has everything he or she needs for your story, the manuscript will be written, edited, and shown to you for your approval. If you've chosen a customized piece, then our team will sit down, review the information, and brainstorm how to turn your story into a masterpiece. During this stage, we’ll choose the materials and decide what illustrations or art to include. We’ll also ask you for any mementoes, keepsakes, or other memorabilia you might want to add in (e.g. newspaper clippings, sheet music, award ribbons, etc.). And we will request your input throughout the process so the finished artwork will be based on the style and preferences you provide.

Finally, the Legacy Piece begins to take shape. The story is printed on archival-quality paper and meticulously sewn together by hand and hand bound by one of our bookbinders. Custom orders may include artwork on each page and embossed or stamped lettering on the book’s cloth cover.

Ahhh...at last your Legacy Piece is complete. This work of art that has taken us three to six months to create just for you is packaged, insured and shipped. And once you receive it, you will be stunned not only by the beauty of the work, but also by the realization that your story will now live on. This is your enduring legacy, a heritage that will be treasured in your family for generations. Your life is a masterpiece. Celebrate it!
